Spi Transport Corporation

Our spot is Room 107/4 in the Vardhaman Chambers. It’s right there on the Hebbagodi Main Road, quite close to the Masjid Bunder Railway Station. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with the trains and the markets nearby. Spi Transport is basically just us sitting in a small room, talking to drivers and checking manifests. The building is old and the stairs are narrow, but we’ve made it work. Being near the station is actually helpful because we see everything happening on the tracks and the roads. We deal with cargo coming through Masjid Bunder all day long. It's a lot of shouting into phones to find out where a truck is stuck. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We've got a couple of ceiling fans that make a lot of noise but don't do much for the heat. It’s a busy life here. We start early when the first trains arrive and usually stay late until the last load is accounted for. There’s always chai being passed around and someone complaining about the traffic. We just handle the logistics the best we can in this tight space. It’s not a glamorous job, but the goods need to move. We’ve been in this room for years and know all the shopkeepers around the station. It's just home for us. We just keep moving things along for the people who need it.
