Sonal Engineering Works

Our workshop is tucked away in Gali No. C/9, inside the Harichand Compound. If you’re coming down L.B.S. Marg in Vikhroli West, you have to look for the turn behind Ashok Dising to find us. Sonal Engineering Works is what we call it. It’s a typical engineering shop with plenty of metal and tools lying around. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s loud because of the machines, but that’s how you know we’re working. We handle a lot of different repairs and custom metal jobs for people in the area. It’s not the cleanest place, but we know where everything is. The compound is always full of activity with other businesses nearby. We just do our bit and try to get the jobs finished on time. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down, and we just have to deal with it. It’s just us here, a small crew doing manual work. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just drop by with their sketches or broken parts. We look at it, tell them if we can fix it, and go from there. Vikhroli has always been a good place for this kind of trade. It’s busy and gets the job done. We like the routine of it all, even when it’s hot and the work is heavy. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the compound gets quiet.
