Our place is in Vashi, Sector 15. We are in building B 3/ 11, specifically Flat No 13 on the first floor. It’s right opposite the Shabri Hotel, which is a big landmark around here. Since we are on the first floor, you have to walk up a short flight of stairs to get to us. It feels more like a home than a shop because it’s inside a flat. I think that makes people feel a bit more relaxed. We run classes here too, so there are usually a few students around practicing their techniques on mannequins or each other. Vashi is a nice part of Navi Mumbai, a bit more planned out than the city, but it still has that busy feel. I keep the windows open to let in the breeze, though sometimes the smell of food from the hotel across the street makes us all hungry. The rooms are divided so we have space for the beauty treatments and a separate area for the teaching part. It’s a lot to manage sometimes, keeping track of the students and the clients, but I’ve been doing it for long enough that it’s second nature now. We use simple tools and products that get the job done. It’s just a local business trying to teach a skill and help people look decent. If you see the hotel, you’ve basically found us.
