Sion Polyclinic Hospital

Sion Polyclinic Hospital is located over at Krishna Bhavan, which is right by the Sion Bus Depot. If you’ve ever been to that depot, you know how loud and chaotic it gets with the buses pulling in and out all day long. We are right there in the middle of that energy. The building, Krishna Bhavan, has its own character and we’ve taken up our space in it as best as we can. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren't used to the layout. We have rooms for different things all spread out, and the signs are mostly hand-painted or typed out on plain paper. It’s not a high-tech looking place, but it serves the people who get off the bus and need help right away. The waiting area is usually full of people with bags and umbrellas, just waiting for their names to be called. You can hear the conductors shouting outside if the windows are open. We try to keep things simple and get people seen without too much delay. The floors are old stone and the walls are thick. It’s a bit cramped when it’s raining outside because everyone crowds into the lobby to stay dry. It is a very local kind of place where you just deal with the space you have and keep going.
