Shubhan Inks Chemicals Pvt Ltd is located at unit 106 in the Acme Industrial Park, which is on I B Patel Road in Goregaon East. It’s a typical industrial setting, so there are always big trucks moving in and out of the gates and the constant sound of machinery from the other units nearby. We deal with inks and different chemicals, so there’s often a faint smell of pigments and solvents in the air around the workshop. It’s not a bad smell, just a part of the everyday job. The workspace is mostly filled with blue barrels and mixing equipment. We usually wear old clothes or aprons because you’re probably going to get a stain on them sooner or later when pouring the ink. The floors are concrete and have some colorful splashes from past jobs we've finished. We spend the day checking the consistency of the batches and carefully packing them into smaller containers for the customers who ordered them. It’s a lot of manual handling and making sure all the labels are stuck on straight. The Acme park is a big place with many buildings, so we have to give very clear directions to anyone coming to visit us for the first time so they don't get lost. We have a small office area blocked off from the main floor where we handle the billing and the phone calls. It’s usually pretty busy and we don't have much time for sitting around doing nothing. We take our breaks when we can, usually just standing around with a glass of water or a quick cup of tea. It’s hard work and the Goregaon traffic can be a nightmare in the evening, but we just get on with it.
