Shreeji Cement

Our shop, Shreeji Cement, is located at Shop Number 2 in the Krishna Niwas building on Mori Road. We are right in the Mahim area, which is always crowded and full of life. It’s a small storefront, but we manage to keep a good amount of cement bags stored inside. Mori Road is one of those places where there is always someone walking by or a bike zooming past. We spend our days mostly talking to local contractors and people doing small repairs on their homes nearby. The space inside Krishna Niwas is tight, so we have to be very organized with how we stack the bags so they don't block the way. It gets a bit hot in the shop during the afternoons, but we usually have the door open to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. We’ve been here in Mahim for quite some time, and we know many of the faces that pass by our door every morning. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people seeing the sign and stopping in when they need a few bags for a job. It is a simple way of doing business, just across the counter and loading the bags onto the back of a tempo or a cycle rickshaw right there on the street. It’s a lot of manual work but it keeps us going throughout the week, even when the traffic outside gets to be a bit much for everyone.
