Shree Bombay Transport Co

We’ve been at 14/16 Bhandari Street for a good while now. Mahaveer Darshan is a busy spot and our office is up on the 3rd floor. Most days, it’s just us coordinating trucks and looking at delivery schedules. Bombay is a tough city for transport because the roads are always jammed, but we manage. People come in to talk about their loads and we figure out how to get them where they need to go. It isn’t fancy here. There are files everywhere and the tea guy comes by twice a day. We deal with all kinds of goods. Some days are slow and we just sit around the desk, other days the phone won't stop ringing. The stairs up to the third floor can be a bit much if you’re not used to them, but it’s our space. We know the drivers and they know us. Most of the guys have been working with us for years. We don’t have a big corporate setup, just a local office where work gets done. Sometimes things go late into the evening if a truck is delayed. We just stay until the job is finished. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and making sure the addresses are right. Bhandari Street is always noisy with people moving things around, so we fit right in. That’s pretty much how it goes here every day. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we check the logbooks. It's a simple life. We don't worry about being fancy.
