Our place is on the fifth floor of the Shalimar building, flat number 17 B. It is right on G Road, just above the Vinod Hotel in Chira Bazar. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens now and then. Chira Bazar is always loud and crowded, so once you get up to the fifth floor, it feels a lot quieter. We have been in this flat for a long time. It is not like a regular shop where you can see inside from the street. You have to know we are here. The rooms are filled with our things and we spend the day handling the daily tasks. We can see the street life from the windows, but the noise is mostly muffled. It is a bit cramped inside because we use every corner of the flat for our work. Sometimes it gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open for a breeze. The neighbors in the building are mostly families or other small offices. We know the lift operator and the people at the tea stall downstairs. It is a very old-school way of doing things. We don't have any big corporate branding or anything. Just a simple nameplate on the door. People usually call us before they come up. It is a simple, honest way to run things from a residential building. We just get on with our work day after day and just keep things moving.
