Shimmer Ladies Hair & Beauty Care is situated at 27, Navyug Society. We are in the 2 Rajhem building on V M Road in Vile Parle West. It’s a nice area, quite residential but still close to everything. We are right opposite Sunrise Hospital, so we often have people coming in who are visiting or working there. Vile Parle West has its own specific energy, and V M Road is a big part of that. The salon is specifically for ladies, so it’s a bit of a private space away from the main road bustle. It’s not a massive salon with dozens of staff; it’s more personal than that. We just have a few people working here who know their way around a pair of scissors and hair color. The building, Rajhem, is a typical Mumbai structure, and being inside Navyug Society gives it a safe, familiar feel. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just focus on the hair and beauty work for the women in the neighborhood. Some days are quieter than others, especially when it’s raining hard outside, but we usually have someone in the chair. The decor is simple and a bit lived-in, which makes people feel more comfortable, I think. We’ve been here for a good amount of time, seeing the changes in Vile Parle, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It’s a steady, honest place for local ladies to get things done.
