Shilpi Art Jewellery

We are located at shop number 116 inside the Nalanda Shopping Centre in Goregaon West. Being in a shopping centre means we are surrounded by all sorts of other businesses, from tailors to mobile repair shops. Shilpi Art Jewellery is a small unit, but we pack a lot into it. We have glass cases lining the walls where we keep all the different jewellery pieces. Goregaon West is a very busy area, and Nalanda gets a lot of foot traffic, especially on the weekends. We spend our time polishing the glass and making sure the displays look decent. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people who wander in. The fluorescent lights in the mall stay on all day, so you sometimes lose track of time. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things get slow. It’s not a very complicated life. We just try to keep the stock updated and handle the repairs that people bring in. The atmosphere in the shopping centre is always a bit noisy, with music playing from other shops and people chatting in the hallways. We’ve been here long enough that the place feels like a second home to us. The rent is paid on the first of the month and we just keep the business moving. Sometimes we have to rearrange the whole shop just to make room for new items that arrive in big cardboard boxes.
