Sharda Timber Mart

We have been here at 45E, Ghodapdeo X Lane-2 for many years now. It is a busy part of Reay Road-W and the air always has that smell of cut wood and old sawdust. Most mornings start with the trucks backing into the lane which is quite narrow and tricky for the drivers. Sharda Timber Mart is mostly just piles of wood and the sound of the saw running in the back. There are five of us who work here and we spend most of the day moving planks around or checking the inventory against the handwritten lists on the clipboard. It gets quite hot under the roof in the afternoons but we have a small fan in the corner that helps a bit. People from the neighborhood stop by sometimes just to chat or ask about prices for a small home project. The floor is never really clean because of the nature of the work but that is just how a timber yard is. We keep the ledger on a heavy wooden desk that has seen better days. It isn’t a fancy setup by any means but it works for what we do. Sometimes the rain gets in a little bit through the side vents when there is a big storm but we just move the good stuff to the center. Usually, we close up when the sun goes down and the traffic on Reay Road starts to thin out a little bit for the night.
