Shahnawaz Khan Hospital is based in Mankhurd, specifically over in the Paly Pada Sita Camp area. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded and lively Mankhurd can be. We are situated right by R n Hospital, so people usually find us pretty easily. The hospital has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time now. It’s a busy place and there’s always something happening in the halls. We see a lot of local families and people from the nearby camps who need medical help. The building is older and the rooms are quite basic, but they serve their purpose for the patients who stay with us. It’s not quiet here, especially during the day when the street noise from outside mixes with the sounds of the hospital, but we’re used to it. The staff stays busy checking on people and handling the paperwork that always seems to pile up on the desks. We don't have any of those expensive waiting room chairs or fancy decor, just the essentials for a hospital in this part of town. People come here because they know we’ve been here for years and we’re right in the middle of where they live. It’s a practical kind of place that focuses on getting through the daily list of people who need to be seen. We just keep the doors open and do the work that needs to be done for our neighbors.
