Shah International

Shah International is based over at Charni Road, specifically on Hosur Main Road 21. It’s a bit of a strange address to explain to people, but it works for what we do. The office is mostly just stacks of papers and people talking on phones all afternoon. We deal with a lot of logistics and stuff that takes a long time to process through the system. It’s not a shop where you walk in and buy something off a shelf. Most of the work is digital or done over very long phone calls with people in other cities. The building is older and the walls are a bit thin, so you can always hear what the neighbors are doing. Charni Road is always crowded, and getting to the office can be a bit of a struggle during the morning rush. We usually start quite early to beat some of the traffic. There’s a lot of coordination involved in what we do. It’s not always very exciting. A lot of it is just making sure the numbers match up and the addresses are typed in correctly on the forms. The furniture we have is all mismatched, just things we’ve picked up over the years. We have a small corner where we keep the kettle for tea and coffee. It gets us through the long afternoons. Sometimes the power flickers, but we just wait for it to come back on and keep going.
