Shah Hastimal Laxmichand & Co.

Our business, Shah Hastimal Laxmichand & Co., is located at 53 Kika Street in the Gulalwadi area. It is an old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow. You have to be careful walking around because of all the handcarts and the constant deliveries. We have been at this address for a very long time, through many different seasons. The shop itself is packed with items from the floor all the way to the ceiling. It can feel a bit overwhelming if you are not used to it, but we know exactly where every single thing is kept. We do not have a computer system that tracks everything; we mostly rely on our memory and some handwritten notes in our books. It might seem a bit behind the times to some people, but it works for us. We are not trying to be some high-tech company. We are just a traditional firm doing what we have always done. People come to us because they trust the name and they know we have been here forever. We do not have a fancy dress code. You will usually see us in simple clothes, busy with a customer or checking a new shipment. The walls are a bit stained from years of use, and the old ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it is home to us. We don't need much.
