Nagdevi Street is a place you don't forget once you've spent a day there. We are at number 115, right in the thick of it. If you’ve ever walked down this street, you know it’s wall-to-wall shops selling every kind of tool and hardware you can imagine. It’s narrow, it’s busy, and there’s always someone unloading a truck or carrying a heavy box past your shoulder. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the chaos anymore. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around who knows the history of a particular part. We don't spend money on fancy displays or bright lights. The shop is old, the wooden counters are worn smooth from years of use, and we like it that way. Customers come in with old parts looking for replacements, or they just need a specific bolt that nobody else seems to carry. We talk to them, find what they need, and they go on their way. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We see the same faces every week, mostly local contractors or other shopkeepers from the area. It’s a community of sorts, even if it looks like a mess to someone just passing through the neighborhood and looking for a quiet spot.
