Shabnam Restaurant

We’ve been here at the Press Wala Building on Lemington Road for quite a while now. It’s a busy spot near Minerva Cinema. Mostly, people just drop in when they're around Grant Road and need a meal. We don't have anything fancy going on, just the usual tables and chairs and the kitchen running all day. The area gets crowded, especially with the cinema right there, so things stay pretty moving. Sometimes it’s loud outside, but that’s just how Mumbai is. We just focus on getting the food out and making sure people have a place to sit. It’s not a big operation, just us doing our thing every day. You might miss the entrance if you’re not looking, but we’re right there at number 190. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. It’s just a regular place where you can get something to eat without any fuss. Nothing complicated about it. We just keep the doors open and the stove hot. If you're walking down from the station, it's an easy walk. We don't do much advertising or anything, word of mouth usually does the job. Just a local spot for local people, really. It’s been our routine for years, and we don't plan on changing much. We like the pace here. People come in, eat their lunch or dinner, and go about their business. That’s how we like it.
