If you are ever in Santacruz West, you might have seen us on Tilak Road. We are in the Balaji Darshan Building, right across from the Hilife Mall. It is a very busy part of Mumbai, with people always rushing to the mall or the station. Our restaurant is just a simple place where people can duck out of the crowd for a bit. We do not have any of those modern, minimalist designs you see in the new cafes. It is more of an old-school vibe here with sturdy furniture and a lot of history. My uncle started this place years ago, and we have tried to keep it going the same way he did. We focus on the kitchen and making sure the food is ready on time. Sometimes the waiters get a bit hurried when the lunch rush hits, and it can be a little loud, but that is the spirit of the place. We have regulars who have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own families. It is not a corporate chain where everything is exactly the same every time. Some days the tea is a bit stronger, or the spice is a bit different, because it is made by real people, not machines. We just want to provide a decent meal at a fair price without any of the extra drama. It is just how we do things at Shabari. We stay busy and keep moving.
