Seth Gsmc & Kem Hospital

Being over here on Acharya Donde Marg in Parel, things get pretty busy. This place, Seth Gsmc & Kem Hospital, has been around for ages. You can see it in the walls and the way the floors look after so many people have walked on them over the years. I spend most of my day running between different wings. It’s a big place, and if you’re new, you’ll probably get lost at least once near the canteen area. There’s always a crowd outside, families waiting or people just passing through Parel. We don’t really have time for fancy talk here. It’s mostly about getting the charts sorted and making sure the patients are seen. The wards are usually full, and the noise of the city outside never really stops. You get used to the sirens and the sound of the traffic on the main road. Sometimes the elevators take forever, so we just use the stairs. It’s faster anyway if you aren't carrying anything heavy. We see all sorts of cases coming through the doors. Some days are harder than others, especially when it’s raining hard and the streets get flooded, but the work has to happen regardless of the weather. We eat our lunch when we can find ten minutes to sit down. It’s a tough job but it’s what we do. No one here is looking for a trophy, we just want to get through the shift and help who we can.
