I’m currently based in Mumbai, specifically at Room No 23 in the Diamond Lodge Building. It’s located at 56, 2nd Peerkhan St. The pincode is 400008. It’s a small room, but it’s where I handle all my work. I work for myself, so there’s no big company hierarchy to deal with. The Diamond Lodge Building is an old place, and you can definitely feel the history of the neighborhood when you walk down 2nd Peerkhan St. It’s often very crowded and loud, as you would expect in this part of Mumbai. There are shops everywhere and people are always rushing somewhere. My room is my little escape from all that chaos. I’ve got everything I need packed into this one space. It’s not fancy, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it serves its purpose. I spend my days here on the computer or making calls. Living and working in the same room can be a bit much sometimes, but it saves on rent and commute time. I know the local chai wallah and the people who run the shops downstairs. It’s a real community here. I don’t have any employees or a big office, just this one room where I manage my life and work. The rain gets really heavy in the monsoon, and the sound on the roof is loud, but I like it. It feels real and honest. This is just my everyday life in the city.
