Screen Craft

If you head over to Dadar West, you will find us in the Tower Building on the second floor. We are at unit number 44. The Drive In Road is always packed with cars and people heading towards the station or the market. Since we are on the second floor, it is a bit quieter than the street level, but you can still hear the city hum coming through the windows. We do screen printing and other craft work here. The smell of ink and cleaning fluid is pretty much part of the furniture now. We have got wooden frames stacked up against the walls and drying racks taking up a lot of the floor space. It is a working studio, not some fancy corporate office, so nobody should expect plush carpets or soft chairs. We spend our days getting the colors right and making sure the screens are properly cleaned. Sometimes the old machinery is a bit moody, but we have learned how to handle it over the years. Being in Dadar is great because everything is accessible, though finding a parking spot is a nightmare for everyone. We usually just take the train or a bus ourselves to get here. We work with local businesses and individuals who need something printed for an event or a small shop. It is a lot of manual labor, washing out the screens and pulling the squeegee by hand. My clothes usually have a bit of paint on them by the end of the shift.
