Our office for Satara Koregaon Motor Transport Co is Gala No 8 in the Gol Compound. We are situated on the 90 Feet Road in Andheri East, right across from the Peninsula Hotel. It is a very busy stretch of road. Being a transport company, things are always a bit dusty and loud around here. We have trucks coming in and out, and there is always a lot of paperwork to deal with for the loads. The gala is a functional space. We have some old wooden desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days. It is mostly about keeping track of where the drivers are and making sure the goods are moving on time. We spend a lot of time on the phone with people at the warehouses or the drivers on the highway. Andheri East is a hub for this kind of work, so we fit right in. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a fancy meeting. You come here to get things moved from one place to another. We have a small bench outside where drivers sit and wait for their papers. We’ve been doing this for a long time and we know the routes well. It’s a tough business with long hours, but it’s what we know. We just focus on the logistics and try to keep everything running as smooth as possible. We keep a big bottle of cold water in the corner for anyone who walks in out of the sun. It's a simple place.
