Santosham Restaurant

Santosham Restaurant is right there on Grant Road. We are just opposite the railway station on the west side. It is a busy spot. People are always rushing to catch trains or coming home from work. We open up early and stay open late most days because that is when people need to eat. The fans stay on all day to keep things moving. We don't have fancy chairs or anything, just plain tables where you can sit down and have a meal. Mumbai is always loud outside, so it is a bit quieter once you step inside our door. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. The street noise from Grant Road is part of the background here. Some people just stop in for a quick bite before heading into the station. Others stay a little longer if they have the time. We keep the water jars filled and the floors swept as much as we can between the rushes. It is just a simple place for food. You don’t need a reservation or a suit to come in here. We just serve what we have ready for the day. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit hot, but that is how it goes. If you are near the station and hungry, we are right across the street. Finding us is easy because of the sign. We just do our work and try to keep things steady for everyone who walks through the door every single day.
