Our place is over at Plot No. 32 Diamond Queen, right on West Avenue. It’s an industrial sort of area, so you hear the sounds of machines and trucks most of the day. We’ve been running these grinders for a long time now. The building isn’t anything fancy, just a solid place where we can get the work done. Inside, it’s mostly the smell of metal and coolant, which is what you’d expect from a grinding shop like ours. We have a crew that’s been with us through a lot of busy seasons. Every morning we start up the equipment and check the schedules to see what's pending. There is always a lot of paperwork to keep track of, but the real work happens on the floor. It’s a lot of measuring and checking parts to make sure they’re right for whatever they're being used for. We don’t really go in for the big marketing talk; we just do the jobs that come in. Sometimes it gets a bit loud, and the dust can be a pain, but that’s just part of the industry. West Avenue has changed a bit over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot. People know where to find us when they need something ground down to size. It’s a practical business, run by people who don’t mind getting their hands a bit dirty. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders as they come.
