You can find us at the Navyug Society Chawl, located on 4th Road in the Golibar area of Santacruz East. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, and there is always something going on outside our door. The shop itself is quite small, which is typical for the chawls around here. We have squeezed in a few sewing machines and racks for the clothes we make. Most of the women from the neighborhood come to us when they need a new outfit for a function or just something for daily use. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights. We just keep the door open and people walk in. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of fabric rolls delivered, but we make it work. The 4th Road can be a bit noisy with all the auto-rickshaws and people walking to the station, but it keeps the energy up. We’ve been in Santacruz for years and we know most of the families living nearby. It’s not a corporate office or a high-end mall shop. It’s just a place where we work hard and try to get the stitching done on time. If the rain is heavy, we have to be careful about the stock, but that’s just part of being in this location. We just take it one day at a time and keep the machines running.
