Sangam Art Printer

Our small print shop is Sangam Art Printer and you can find us at Gala No 2 in the Baijnath Yadav Chawl. Jogeshwari East is a crowded place with lots of small businesses tucked into every corner. Our space is just a basic gala where we keep the machines running. It gets quite warm inside when the printers have been going for a few hours, so we usually keep the door open to get some air from the lane. The chawl has its own rhythm with people coming and going all the time. Sometimes the power flutters but we manage to get the work done. We do a lot of paper stuff and ink is always getting on someone’s hands. It is not a fancy office with air conditioning or expensive furniture. We have a few sturdy tables and shelves stacked with different types of paper and finished jobs waiting to be picked up. If you walk down the main path in the chawl, you will hear the sound of our equipment. People from the neighborhood know us as the place where there is always paper being moved around. It is a bit dusty because of the location, but it is home for us. We just focus on the printing and try to keep things moving. There is usually a bit of a mess with scraps on the floor, but we sweep it up at the end of every day.
