Sandhu Transport

We operate out of Andheri East, right on Sarojini Naidu Road in the Tambe Nagar area. Our spot is at 1 B in Raja Market, which is usually a chaotic place with people and goods moving everywhere at all hours. Sandhu Transport has been around here for a good while, and we’ve seen the market change quite a bit. The office is basically just a place to keep the logbooks and take calls from the drivers. There’s always a bit of grease on the door handle and the smell of diesel from the trucks parked nearby. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking where the lorries are and if they’ve hit any traffic on the highway. It’s not the cleanest job, but it keeps the city moving, I guess. During the rains, Sarojini Naidu Road gets really muddy, and we have to keep mopping the floor because of all the boots coming in and out. There’s a small shop nearby that makes decent samosas, so that’s usually our lunch most days. It’s a loud environment with the horns and the shouting in the market, but you stop noticing it after a while. We don't have any big corporate signs, just the work we do every day. The trucks come and go, and we just try to keep everything on schedule as much as the Mumbai traffic allows. It’s just us doing our thing in Raja Market.
