Sanchi Candles

Sanchi Candles is located at Gala No 104 in the Samhita Complex over in Andheri East, near Bangur Nagar. If you’ve ever been to this part of Andheri, you know it’s a maze of industrial buildings and warehouses. Our space is where we melt the wax and set the wicks. The smell of different scents is always hanging in the air, which is better than the smell of the traffic outside. We aren't a giant factory, just a small operation with a few people who know how to handle the molds. It’s a lot of waiting for things to cool down and then packing them into boxes. Sometimes the colors don't mix exactly how we thought they would, but that’s the nature of handmade stuff. The boxes are stacked high against the walls and there’s always a crate of something waiting to be shipped out. We don’t have a fancy marketing team or a shiny office. We just sit on our stools and work through the orders one by one. The lights in the gala are a bit dim, and the floor is always a little bit slippery from the wax drops. We drink our tea and listen to the radio while we work. It’s a steady pace, nothing too fast but we never really stop until the evening. People find us through word of mouth mostly.
