Salim Brothers is located at 7 Vaswani House on Best Marg. We are right behind the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba, which is one of the most famous areas in Mumbai. You can feel the history of the city when you walk around here. The building we are in has that old-world charm, with high ceilings and thick walls. It’s a very different vibe from the newer parts of town. We’ve been around for a long time, and we’ve seen the area change so much over the years. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things, and it can feel a bit crowded at times because we hate throwing anything away. We get a mix of people coming through the door—tourists who are lost, locals who have been coming to us for decades, and people just curious about the old signs. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements; people usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past on their way to the hotel. The sea breeze occasionally reaches us, but mostly it’s just the sound of taxis and the general bustle of Colaba outside. We keep things simple and just focus on being here every day, ready to help whoever walks in. It’s a steady life, and being in such an iconic spot makes every day a little bit interesting. We aren't going anywhere, just doing what we have always done.
