Saifee Hospital

If you walk down Maharshi Karve Marg towards Girgaum, you can’t miss Saifee Hospital. It’s that massive glass building that stands out against the older houses in the Charni Road area. It’s always buzzing with activity from early morning until late at night. The security guards at the entrance have their hands full directing people where to go. Inside, the floors are divided up into different wards and offices, and there’s a lot of walking involved to get anywhere. Sometimes the waiting area near the pharmacy gets a bit cramped, especially when the weather is hot outside. People from all over Girgaum come here because it’s so close to the station. We see a lot of regulars who have been coming for years. The nurses and the ward boys are usually the ones running the show on the ground. It gets loud sometimes when several ambulances arrive at once. We don't really use big words here, we just handle the patients as they come in. Some days are smoother than others, but that’s just how hospital life goes. There's a lot of cleaning going on all the time to keep the floors looking decent. The traffic on Maharshi Karve Marg is always a bit of a nightmare during rush hour, so most of us try to get to work early. It’s a busy spot but it’s home for us who work here every single day.
