Our place, Saibaba Machine Tools Pvt. Ltd., is tucked away in the Ghatkopar Industrial Estate at C/5. If you know L.B.S. Marg, you know how congested it can get with all the traffic heading through Ghatkopar. The estate is a bit of a maze with different units doing all sorts of mechanical work. We focus on machine tools here. It’s a noisy environment with the sound of metal and engines, but that’s just the nature of the business. We’ve been in this spot for many years now. The walls are a bit stained and the floor has its share of oil marks, but it shows we actually work here. We don't have a corporate headquarters in a glass building. We are right there on the shop floor most of the time. We handle repairs and supply parts to other workshops. Our staff consists of people who have spent their whole lives around machinery. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just about fixing things and making sure the tools work like they should. Lunchtime usually involves sitting around the main desk and sharing food. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. People find us because we’ve been here forever and we know our trade. We just want to keep the machines running for everyone who relies on us. It is simple, honest work that keeps us busy every single day.
