Sai Telecom

Sai Telecom is a small shop tucked away on Dr D' Silva Road in Dadar West. Being at number 6 means we are right in the thick of things near the market. It is always noisy outside with the flower sellers and the people rushing to catch the train at Dadar station. The shop itself is narrow, filled with glass counters that are covered in fingerprints by noon. We spend the day looking at tiny screens and fiddling with small parts that most people would lose in a second. It is the kind of place where people come when their phone screen is cracked or they can't figure out why their battery is dying so fast. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big waiting lounge. Usually, customers just stand by the counter and chat with us while we check their devices. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the shop faces the sun, but we have a small fan that does its best. Sometimes we run out of a specific charger or a screen protector, and we have to tell people to come back the next day. We know a lot of the regulars by name because they have been coming here since they got their first mobile. It’s just a simple shop where we try to keep things running for everyone who walks through the door.
