M T S Stores

M T S Stores is right there in Borivali East, sitting at the junction of M G Road and Carter Road, specifically at number 9. Being at a junction means it’s never quiet; there is always the sound of horns and people rushing to catch the train or a bus. We have a lot of items packed into the shelves, and sometimes it feels like we are bursting at the seams. We spend a lot of our time just restocking the shelves and talking to the people who walk in off the street. It’s a very local feel here. We don't have a computer system that does everything for us, so a lot of it is still done with pens and paper ledgers. The fans overhead wobble a bit when they are on the high setting, but they keep the air moving through the store. We get a lot of regulars who stop by just to say hello or pick up something small on their way home. It’s a lot of standing and moving things around, so our feet are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. Carter Road can get really packed in the evenings, so we usually wait a bit after closing before we head home ourselves. It’s just the reality of running a shop in such a busy part of Borivali every day.
