Sadguru Screen Printers

Our shop is in Room No 10 of the Sitaram Kadam Chawl. It’s in Andheri East, right near the Hanuman Temple. You can usually hear the temple bells from where we work. Screen printing is messy work, and our hands are almost always stained with some kind of ink. We’ve got frames leaning against the walls and drying racks taking up most of the floor space. It’s a tight fit in this room, but we’ve made it work for years. We do a lot of small jobs for people in the neighborhood, like wedding cards or posters for local events. Sometimes the smell of the chemicals gets a bit strong, so we keep the door open to let some air in from the chawl walkway. People walk past and wave while we’re working. It’s a very local vibe here. We don't have fancy machines that do everything automatically. A lot of it is still done by hand, pulling the squeegee across the mesh. It takes time, and sometimes we make a mistake and have to start over. But people appreciate that we’re right here and they can talk to us directly about what they need. It’s a simple business in a busy part of town. We just keep our heads down and keep the prints coming out.
