Sabri Hotel

We are right here at 113/115 inside the Sabri Guest House building in the Masjid area of Mumbai. If you know where the Null Bazar Police Chowki is, we are just directly opposite that. Our place is tucked off Bapu Khote Street, which is always one of the busiest spots you can imagine. This part of Mumbai never really stays quiet. There is always the sound of horns and people shouting from the market nearby. We have rooms upstairs for people staying over and the hotel part downstairs where we serve food. It is a tight space because that is just how things are in this neighborhood. We have been here for a long time now. The building is old and shows its age in places. We don't have fancy decorations or modern furniture. Most people come to us because they are working in the market or visiting the mosque nearby. We keep the tea hot and the food ready throughout the day. My family has been involved with this place for a couple of generations. We know the shopkeepers on Bapu Khote Street well. It’s a lot of climbing stairs and moving around in small rooms. We don't use fancy computers for anything. We just keep our books by hand and talk to everyone who walks through the door. It’s a crowded life but it’s our life. We just try to keep things running smooth in the middle of all the Mumbai chaos.
