S. S. Chemicals

S. S. Chemicals is tucked away in Anil Compound. It’s on Ramchandra Lane Extn near Kanchpada No-1 in Malad West. The lane is pretty narrow, so getting trucks in and out can be a real headache sometimes. We spend a lot of our day moving drums around and making sure the labels are right. There’s a specific smell to the place, kind of sharp and clean, which you get used to after a week or so. The office is just a small room at the front with a fan that squeaks a little. We don't have a lot of visitors, mostly just delivery drivers and the occasional neighbor. Malad gets very wet during the monsoon, and the compound usually has a few puddles we have to hop over. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years. It’s not a fancy industrial park, just a group of old buildings where people get things made. We keep our logs in big binders and try to stay organized, even when the desk gets buried under papers. The staff here is small, just a few of us who know the routine. We show up, check the inventory, and get to work. It’s a simple life in a busy part of Mumbai. We just try to do the job right and get home before the evening train rush starts at the station.
