S. Amit Speciality Chemicals Pvt. Ltd is based in the Neelam Centre, unit 101-A, over on Hind Cycle Road in Worli. It’s a standard office building, and we’ve been here for quite a while. Being in Worli is convenient for some things, but the traffic around Hind Cycle Road can be a real pain in the neck most days. Our office is usually full of papers and sample bottles. We aren't the type to have a minimalist, clean desk policy. Things get used, and they stay out until they aren't needed. We handle speciality chemicals, so there’s a lot of technical talk between the staff. Most of us have been in this industry long enough that it’s second nature. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive rugs. The chairs are comfortable enough for an eight-hour day, and the AC works most of the time. When people come by, we just offer them tea and get straight to the point. No long presentations or sales pitches here. We just discuss what’s available and what the price is. It’s a small team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute you’re on a call, the next you’re helping move a box. It’s just how a small office runs. We don't try to sound like a multinational; we’re just regular people doing our jobs in Worli. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us on our toes and the days go by quickly enough.
