We are located at 51 Santacruz West on SV Road. If you know the area, you know how the traffic gets during the rush hours. It can be a real headache sometimes. We spend most of our mornings just waiting for the first trucks to arrive. It’s a dusty business, selling sand. You can’t really help it. Our clothes usually have a thin layer of grit by noon. We’ve been here at this spot for a good while now. Most people in the neighborhood know us by sight even if they don’t know our names. We don’t have a big fancy reception or anything like that. It’s just a desk, some chairs, and the ledger where we keep track of everything. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking here. We just supply sand to whoever needs it for their construction or repair work. Sometimes it’s a big truckload, other times it’s just a few bags for a small patch-up job. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can, but things happen. A truck breaks down or the rain starts and everything slows down to a crawl. That’s just the nature of the work in this part of Mumbai. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for years. We know the rhythm of the road and the regulars who stop by every week to see what is available.
