Our place is inside the Suryodaya Mill Compound on M.P. Mill Road. Tardeo is an interesting part of Mumbai. It used to be full of mills like this one, but now there are huge towers everywhere around us. We’ve kept our space here because it suits us. It is a bit of a maze inside the compound, and if you aren't careful, you might take a wrong turn. We deal with dyes and food colours, so the office sometimes smells a bit like a laboratory. It’s not a polished environment. There are crates stacked in the hallway and the furniture has been here since we opened. We don't have a fancy reception desk or any slogans on the wall. We just have people who know how to handle the chemicals and keep the accounts straight. The stairs are quite steep, and the lighting could be better, but we are used to it. Most of the staff have been here for over ten years, so we’re more like a small community than a big company. We know the local shops where you can get a good lunch. On rainy days, the water pools up near the entrance, and we have to put out bags to keep the floor dry. It’s just how things go in an old building like this. We focus on the daily orders and don't worry much about looking corporate. It is just about getting the work out.
