Ritz Candles

Our workshop is located at 305 DN Road. It is an older building, so you have to look for the number carefully when you are walking down the street. Ritz Candles isn't a big factory or anything like that. It is mostly just us working with wax and wicks in a room that always smells a bit like vanilla or sandalwood, depending on what we were melting that morning. The space is practical because it is close to where we get our supplies. We spend most of our hours watching pots on the stove and making sure the temperature is just right so the candles do not crack when they cool down. It is messy work, and there are always little drops of wax on the floor that we have to scrape off at the end of the week. We do not have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Mostly, the finished candles are just stacked on wooden shelves until they are ready to go out. People sometimes wander in because they catch the scent from the hallway. We don’t mind, though we are usually too busy pouring to talk for long. It is a quiet life, really. Just focusing on getting the center of the wick straight and making sure the jars are clean before we fill them up. The lighting in the back room isn’t great, but it works for what we need. It is just a local spot where we make things by hand and hope they turn out well.
