Rich Textile

Our shop is located at Thakur State in Jogeshwari West, specifically Shop No 6. We are right across the street from the Raigardh Military School, so we see the students and parents passing by all day long. It’s a lively part of Scout Jogeshwari. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just shelves and shelves of fabric. We have all kinds of textiles, from cottons to more fancy materials, and the smell of the cloth is the first thing you notice when you walk in. The space is a bit narrow because we try to fit in as many rolls as possible. We don't have a big display window or mannequins. It’s more of a place where you come to dig through the stacks and find the exact color or pattern you need. We spend our time measuring out meters of cloth and using a big pair of heavy scissors to cut them. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread and lint by the end of the day. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, and we know many of the local tailors who come in to buy their supplies. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day and moving those heavy rolls around, but we are used to it. We don't have any corporate branding or fancy bags. We just wrap the cloth in brown paper and tie it with string. It’s an honest, local textile shop for the people living nearby.
