Our place is on the second floor of Devkaran Niwas. If you're walking down Samuel Street, you have to look for the building number 283/16b. It's not a ground-floor shop, so people usually come here specifically to see us. We’ve been at this spot for a good amount of time. The stairs can be a bit steep, especially when we're carrying rolls of fabric or heavy bags up and down. Being on the second floor means it's a bit quieter than the street level, which helps when we're trying to get the books in order or talk to the tailors. It's a modest setup. We have a few desks and a lot of samples lying around everywhere. Some days it feels like there isn't enough room for all the stuff we have, but we manage. The electricity can be a bit finicky sometimes, but that’s just how it goes in this old building. We spend most of our time dealing with orders and checking the quality of what comes in. It's mostly family and a few workers who have been with us for years. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people know us from word of mouth or because they’ve been coming to this area for a long time. It’s practical work. We show up, do the job, and go home. Samuel Street is always humming with activity, even if we are tucked away upstairs. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished.
