Raj Engineering Works Pvt Ltd is tucked away in Lower Parel at 33-B/A-1. We are located in the H Block of the MIDC area. This part of Mumbai is very industrial and you can always hear the sound of machines or metal being moved around. Our workshop is where we spend most of our time. It’s got that specific smell of grease and iron that you find in any engineering place. We have been here for a long time and the building has seen better days, but it serves us well. The guys on the floor are usually busy with one project or another. We do a lot of fabrication and repair work. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We are usually in our work clothes and have dirt under our fingernails by the end of the shift. Lower Parel has changed so much with all the malls and office towers, but our little corner of MIDC feels like it hasn’t changed in twenty years. We like it that way. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to our customers and make sure the parts we make are solid. If you walk into our office, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea and looking over a blueprint. That’s just how we operate. There is always a lot of heavy lifting involved.
