Raina Engineers

Our workshop is located at A-8 in the Shri Ram Industrial Estate over in Wadala West. It’s one of those older industrial areas where everyone kind of knows each other. Raina Engineers has been squeezed into this unit for a while now. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful about where we put the tools and the parts we are working on. There’s usually a bit of oil on the floor and the smell of metal in the air. We don't have a fancy front office with a glass door. You just walk in and you’re pretty much in the middle of the work area. We spend our days tinkering with things and making sure the engineering side of stuff is sorted. Most of the time, we are covered in some kind of grime by lunch. Wadala is a busy part of the city, and the estate itself can get quite cramped when people are loading trucks. We like it here because it’s central. You can hear the trains sometimes and the general buzz of the other units around us. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or expensive furniture because we’d rather just have better tools. It’s just a handful of us working hard to get the jobs done. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. Sometimes the ceiling leaks a bit when it rains hard, but we manage.
