Rahul Roadways

Our place is at 7 Sakinaka Garden Compound. It is a dusty spot but it has plenty of room for what we do. Rahul Roadways is basically just me and a few guys making sure the trucks are ready to go. Sakinaka is always jammed with traffic, so we have to plan things carefully or else everything gets delayed. We spend most of our time outside in the yard rather than sitting in the office. The office is just a small room with a fan that makes a clicking noise. We keep our tools and spare parts scattered around because we know where everything is. It looks like a mess to an outsider but it makes sense to us. We don’t do big meetings or have people in suits coming around. Most of our talk is over a cup of chai near the gate. People know us because we’ve been in this compound for years. The ground gets muddy when it rains and we just wear old boots. It is not a glamorous business but someone has to do it. We focus on the trucks and the roads. If a tire is flat, we fix it. If a driver is tired, he rests. We just keep moving. The compound gate is a bit rusty and sometimes it sticks. My brother helps out with the accounts when he can. We have a small radio that plays old songs while we work.
