Rafique Auto

We have been sitting here at Kurla West in the MIDC area for a good while now. Rafique Auto is just what it says on the sign out front, nothing too fancy. If you walk down Pandharkar Vasti towards the CST Road, you will probably see us. There is always a lot of dust and oil around because that is just the way it goes when you are working on engines all day. Most mornings start early before the sun gets too hot, especially with the metal roof over the shop. We have got tools scattered around and parts that we have been meaning to organize, but there is usually another job coming in before we get the chance. People stop by and ask for help with things that have been broken for weeks. Sometimes we just sit on the plastic chairs outside for a minute to breathe when the traffic gets loud. It is not a quiet place. The air smells like diesel and old grease, which stays on your skin even after you wash up. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes through the door. It is a small spot, but it fits us just fine. You get used to the noise of the trucks going past and the neighbor shops banging on things. That is just how life is over here in this part of Kurla. We don't have a big office or anything, just the workspace and enough light to see what we are doing under the hood.
