Radha Masand

Radha Masand operates out of room 708 in Tirupati Industries, which is right near Ambica Cinema in Khar West. If you know the area, you know how crowded it can get, especially when there’s a new movie playing. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. It’s one of those old Mumbai industrial estates where everyone knows everyone else’s business. My space isn't huge, but it fits everything I need to get the job done. I usually get in early before the traffic starts building up on the main road. The lift in this building is a bit moody, so sometimes I just take the stairs to the seventh floor, which is good exercise I suppose. It’s a busy atmosphere here with the sounds of other businesses all around us. I handle most things myself, though I have some help when the workload gets too heavy. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or advertising because word of mouth usually keeps us busy enough. People just drop by when they are in the neighborhood. It’s a straightforward way of doing business without any of the extra fluff you see online these days. Being in Khar West means we are right in the middle of everything, which is convenient for supplies and meetings. I’ve lived and worked in this city all my life, so this small corner of Tirupati Industries feels like a second home to me now.
