R Mahavir Plastic Industries is located right in the heart of the city at 388/94 Kalbadevi, on the 2Nd Floor. If you’ve ever been to Kalbadevi, you know how incredibly crowded and narrow the streets are. It’s a real task just getting up to the second floor sometimes, especially when we have to move stock around. The building is old and has that specific smell of an aging market structure. We’ve been operating from this floor for a long time. It’s a very busy atmosphere with people shouting and carts rattling on the stones outside. Our space is packed with plastic goods, and there’s hardly a spot that isn't put to use. We don't have elevators or anything like that, so we get a lot of exercise on those stairs. It’s a traditional way of doing business, face to face and right in the middle of the trade hub. We don't bother with fancy decor or air conditioning because it wouldn't make much sense in a place like this. Most of our customers are people who have been buying from the Kalbadevi market for decades. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, which is providing plastic items to whoever needs them. It’s a bit chaotic and loud, but that’s the energy of this part of town and we wouldn't know what to do without it. We just open up and keep the business going every day.
