R K Engineering

R K Engineering is located in the Icc Compound at Gala No.5. We are right on Lathia Rubber Lane, which is a bit of a squeeze for larger trucks. It’s near the Tejpal Industrial Estate and right across from Bharat House on the Andheri Kurla Road in Sakinaka. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai. Our gala is packed with machinery and raw metal rods. It’s been my father’s place for a long time, and I grew up watching him work here. Now I’m the one handling the orders and making sure the lathes are working right. The air in Sakinaka is always full of smoke and noise, but we don't mind it much. We do a lot of milling and turning work for various industrial clients. Our space is small, so we have to be very organized, or we’d never find anything. We don’t have an air-conditioned office; we just have a desk in the corner with a big fan. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the lane a bit of a mess, but we still show up and get the work done. We don’t have a website or do any advertising. Word of mouth is how we get most of our jobs. People know that if they come to Gala No.5, they’ll get someone who knows what they’re doing. We just focus on the measurements and making sure the finish is okay. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy every day.
