Quimica India

Our small office for Quimica India is located right off the Western Express Highway in the Chakala area of Andheri East. It is a pretty busy spot and the noise from the traffic outside never really stops, but you get used to it after a few days. We mostly deal with different kinds of industrial chemicals and supplies here. The space is filled with desks, old metal cupboards, and stacks of documents that we need to keep track of. It is not a fancy place with modern furniture or anything like that. We have a few ceiling fans that click a bit when they are on high speed. The staff mostly spends the day on the phone talking to suppliers or checking on where the delivery trucks are stuck in the Mumbai traffic. Usually, someone brings in snacks from the local shops near the highway around teatime. We don’t have a big corporate lobby, just a simple entrance where people come in to discuss orders or drop off invoices. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we keep the windows shut to block out the dust from the road. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to get the day’s tasks done without too much fuss. People here have worked together for a long time, so we know how each other likes their tea and which files are kept in which drawer. It is practical and straightforward work.
