Prince Aly Khan Hospital

Most people around here just call us Prince Aly Khan. We are located in the heart of the city, and the hospital is pretty much a landmark on its own. It has been standing for a long time, and you can tell by the architecture in some parts. We do not really have a fancy street name to give sometimes, people just know where the hospital is. Inside, it is a lot of walking. I spend most of my day on my feet, going from one wing to another. It is a practical setup. We have the labs, the wards, and the waiting areas all spread out. It is not a quiet place. There is always the sound of someone being paged or the hum of the machines. We get people coming from far away, not just the local neighborhood. The staff rooms are small, but we make do with what we have. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long night shifts. There is a sense of history in the walls here. A lot of families have had generations born or treated in this building. We do not do things for show. We just provide the space and the care that is needed. It can be stressful, but it is the kind of work that feels real. We are just part of the city’s furniture now, sitting here and doing our daily tasks. It is just a normal hospital doing normal work.
